Kristen Biancaniello, LPC
Kristen Biancaniello is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and the founder of Better Days Counseling. Kristen has over a decade of experience working in the mental health field, starting in 2010 where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University; she then went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education at Duquesne University in 2013. Since that time, Kristen has worked at different levels of care and acuity within the mental health field, including a crisis hotline, Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS), Family-Based Therapy Services, Partial Hospitalization Program, and Behavioral Health Consultant. Kristen’s clinical experience in these roles offering individual, family, couples, and group therapy allows her to bring that breadth of knowledge to her current and future teletherapy clients at Better Days Counseling.
While Kristen has expertise working with clients dealing with relationship dynamics, LGBTQIA+ specific concerns, grief and loss, and women’s issues, she considers herself a generalist. In other words, she provides therapeutic support across a variety of presenting concerns instead of focusing on one highly specialized issue or population. This approach allows Kristen to offer therapy and continue supporting her clients with the many challenges they encounter throughout the different stages of life.
Kristen’s approach to therapy is considered eclectic, in that she utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches throughout the counseling process tailored to each individual client’s needs and goals. Kristen draws from her training and knowledge in modalities of Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and the Gottman Method. Kristen is a life-long learner and continues to build upon her knowledge base by attending trainings to enhance her current skillset as well adding to her therapeutic toolbox.
